The Leica S9 D 4K digital microscope is the ultimate microscope for the jeweler that wants to demonstrate the quality of their gems to their customers! It can also be used as a training tool for gemological classes or employee/apprentice training! The real time high speed camera allows for HDMI, USB, WiFi, or Network output an simultaneous viewing through the eyepieces. Imagine showing a customer their stone on a large HD scree, or handing them an iPad with a live image to gain their confidence. When output in HDMI mode the camera is fully controlled with a mouse allowing you to capture images to an SD card, or USB stick. You can play them back on the screen, without having to use a computer. The S9 can be a valuable sales tool as you can do a side-by-side comparison of a live image vs captured image. This can be useful if a customer is deciding between two stones. The microscope itself offers a zoom range 9.76x - 88x with the included 16x eyepieces. The Unitron gemological stand offers an illuminated darkfield bowl with iris, overhead fluorescence illuminator, and pinpoint LED light. The stand tilts and rotates 325 degrees. The optics in the S9 D are unmatched by any other microscope on the market. Leica has a patent called fusion optics, this optical technique allows them to provide higher resolution than any other microscope brand. You also have the benefit of a larger field of view than any other microscope, this means you see more when looking through the scope. Finally fusion optics provides a larger depth of focus, this means more of your sample will be in focus and less refocusing!
