This digital polarizing light microscope comes with your choice of HDMI / USB output camera. You can choose to have an 11.6" retina display screen above the eyepieces to view, capture images / videos to a removable SD card, or replay images / videos. In addition you can also output directly to a PC to capture images into the free software. If you do not select the screen you can still output HDMI to your own screen off to the side, or USB to a computer. The screen just serves as an all-in-one streamlined solution. The microscope itself is an easy to use, durable, and reliable polarizing light microscope. It comes with a trinocular head with appropriate c-mount adapter. The 10x eyepieces provide a 20mm field of view, and one has a crosshair reticle installed. The bertrand lens module contains an adjustable analyzer and is focusable. It has on board storage for the sliders and centering screws so you do not misplace them! The microscope comes standard with Lamda, 1/4 Lamda, and Quartz Wedge plates. The analyzer and bertrand lens have clear in / out positions just like a light switch to avoid user confusion. The standard objectives are infinity corrected DIN strain free plan achromatic 4x, 10x, and 40x - others are available. The stage rotates 360 degrees, comes with stage clips, and can be locked into position. The strain free condenser has a rotating polarizer attached which has orientation markers at every 90 degrees. This microscope has the option of halogen or LED rechargeable illumination.
The included camera is a powerful tool that can output HDMI to any monitor or USB to a computer. When output HDMI on-board software pops up on your screen and you can control the camera with the included mouse. The camera can also output to a PC and can be used with the feature right included software which allows for image / video capture, measurements, extended depth of focus, annotations, stitching, and more!

The Lx POL comes equipped with LABOMED MaxLite™ coated optics, a sputtered hard coating technology that delivers a research grade of anti-reflective and scratch resistant properties. This is most useful in earth and materials sciences applications, where integrity of light transmission and mitigation of internal reflections are critical, as optimal light angle control and reduction of stray light yield a superior dynamic range and resolution. |
For precise conoscopic imaging, an integrated analyzer/Bertrand lens module provides individual flip-in/flip-out of the analyzer and Bertrand lens, with a conveniently located focusing dial. Centration of the Bertrand lens is achieved through easy-access front mounted centering screws. A conveniently positioned slider slot will accept a range of compensator plates. |
A large circular stage with two locking brakes is provided, delivering a smooth 360 degrees of rotation. An optional 100x objective further complements the SF series of strain-free optics, ensuring no optical impurities interfere with polarized light. A fixed verticality crosshair is a standard feature, maintaining its orientation as IPD is adjusted. |
Two compensator plate slots and two centering tool slots are located onboard the analyzer/Bertrand lens module to prevent unwanted loss of accessories. The microscope comes equipped with λ, 1/4 λ, and Quartz-Wedge plates. |
